Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program
Program Director's Welcome
Thank you for your interest in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program at Memorial Healthcare System (MHS). We believe that every individual who sets out to be a physician does so with the aim of helping others and making a difference.
The PM&R Residency Program strives to train residents to become outstanding clinicians who care for patients with a variety of disabilities and impairments in order to maximize their functional abilities and improve their quality of life. In collaboration with the tertiary and quaternary care provided across MHS, our program provides residents with ample exposure to highly specialized care of a variety of patient populations including complex multiple trauma, strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, geriatrics, pediatrics, pain medicine and orthopedics.
Our healthcare system strives to provide access to exceptional patient-and family-centered care, medical education, research and innovation for the benefit of the community we serve.
I hope you’ll join us in our mission to heal the body, mind and spirit of those we touch.
About Our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program
Memorial Regional Hospital South (MRHS) is the home of Memorial Rehabilitation Institute, one of the largest acute rehabilitation hospitals in Florida. Memorial Regional Hospital South and Memorial Rehabilitation Institute have developed a wide range of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services in an academic community-based healthcare system with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary patient- and family-centered care.
Our 4-year program enables residents to complete their training in one location, inclusive of a preliminary year in partnership with our ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Program. Residents rotate through inpatient, outpatient and consultative services within Memorial Healthcare System with progressive levels of responsibility throughout their training. We seek to train residents who desire to practice PM&R and aspire to become agents of change in our rapidly evolving healthcare system.
Residents will be educated in the management of patients across the entire continuum of care. MHS is a six-hospital healthcare system devoted to delivering patient- and family-centered care.
Our hospital system includes:
- Level I Trauma Center
