Why Memorial: I chose Memorial for so many reasons. While I wasn't technically raised in South Florida, it has always been home for me. So many of my family members receive care through Memorial and all have loved their experiences. I am so honored to have the privilege of training here and giving back to a healthcare system that has done so much for my family, and the community at large. I could sense from interview day just how close-knit everyone was. I am appreciative of how genuine all of my co-residents and attendings are, and how helpful they have been in teaching me in their own ways. I also wanted to come to an OB program that was high-volume and serviced lots of high-risk patients, and my experience at Memorial has not disappointed.
Future Goals: I just started my residency, so I don't have all of the details worked out yet, but I would love to stay in South Florida
after residency and be a generalist. I have thought about specializing, but I can't imagine giving up anything right now. I love the OR, delivering babies, and I love clinic. I love the diversity and flexibility of daily tasks that generalizing allows. Service and advocacy are very important to me, and I would love to provide quality care to women in underserved areas. International healthcare is very important to me, so I will definitely spend some time doing work overseas. I would also love to teach/mentor at some capacity.
