Some common diagnoses that may require balance and vestibular rehabilitation include:

  • Acoustic neuroma
  • Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
  • Central disorders as a result of a head injury or concussion (fall, accident, stroke, etc.)
  • Labyrinthitis
  • Meniere’s disease
  • Vestibular neuritis

Our physical therapists assess the vestibular system to determine the treatment for each patient’s specific needs. Vestibular rehabilitation may include exercises with various head, body and eye movements, as well as general balance activities. If appropriate, it may be necessary to provide strengthening, flexibility, coordination and gait (walking) training.

Vestibular rehabilitation is available at the following facilities:

Memorial Regional Hospital South: 954-265-5453

Memorial Hospital West: 954-844-7180
