Before you schedule an occupational therapy (OT) appointment:

— Check with your insurance company to see if they cover OT services and if you need prior authorization. If you do need prior authorization, it may take up to 14 days to get it from your primary care physician.

— Have your prescription and insurance information ready. Your prescription cannot be more than 60 days old on the day of your appointment.

Occupational therapy services typically include an individualized assessment, a personalized treatment plan and ongoing reassessment.
