Visiting a Patient Visitation Guidelines Memorial Healthcare System encourages family members and loved ones to visit its hospital patients. Visiting a Patient For safety reasons, we require all adult visitors to have photo identification. Security will print a photo pass that will allow you to visit a patient. Visiting hours vary by hospital. See hospital location hours and policies. In addition to these hospital policies, please note the following general guidelines: Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times. If a patient wishes for a family member to stay overnight, please contact the patient's nurse to make arrangements. We ask that any person with a cold, sore throat or other transmittable illness not visit patients. We ask that visitors be sensitive to patients' conditions and their need for rest. Please contact the patient or the patient's family before visiting. Tobacco-free System Memorial Healthcare System locations are tobacco-free. This is a fundamental reflection of our systemwide commitment to improving the health of the community we serve. Tobacco use – including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco and electronic cigarettes – is prohibited on all campuses and in all vehicles at all Memorial sites. Nicotine replacement therapy is available for purchase in the Outpatient Pharmacies, Retail Pharmacies and/or Gift Shops throughout Memorial Healthcare System. Employees, patients, members of the medical staff, family members and visitors, contractors, vendors, volunteers, students and tenants of Memorial medical office buildings are all included in this program designed to help enhance our healing environment.
