Knee Replacement
We offer advanced procedures to get you moving and playing again.
A knee joint worn away by arthritis is not only uncomfortable, but it can also prevent you from doing the activities you love. Eventually, even everyday activities, such as taking the stairs or walking around the grocery store, can become painful chores.
When conservative therapies like steroid injections and physical therapy no longer relieve your pain, you may want to consider knee replacement surgery (knee arthroplasty). By replacing all or part of a damaged knee joint with an implant, we can restore pain-free movement.
Our innovative surgical methods result in more efficient and effective joint replacement. Using robot-assisted technologies, our surgeons can customize the alignment, position and balance of the implants with accuracy and precision. This precision results in more natural movement and helps knee replacement implants last longer.
We’re also committed to reducing your time in the hospital. We typically use a spinal anesthetic combined with a nerve-blocking pain medication instead of general anesthesia. This approach reduces bleeding and complications, allowing you to return home within hours of your surgery.
After knee replacement surgery, you can choose to participate in our Total Joint Replacement Recovery Program. A team of exercise physiologists oversees your recovery and customizes your care plan. You have supervised exercise sessions (group or individual) to help you recover faster, build strength, and improve knee mobility. See our outpatient rehabilitation locations.

If arthritis affects only part of the knee, we’ll preserve the healthy areas of the joint. Partial knee replacement surgery removes only the damaged tissue and bone in the knee joint. We replace that with a prosthetic (implant) to restore knee joint function.
When the entire knee joint is damaged, we perform a total knee replacement. This surgery involves removing the diseased cartilage and bone around the surface of the joint and replacing it with implants to create a new joint.
We use advanced robotic systems to make knee replacement surgery safer and more precise. This technology helps us customize the implant and its placement to accurately reconstruct your knee. The result is more natural movement, less pain and faster recovery.
If you’ve had a knee replacement, the original implant may wear down or loosen from the bone, an infection may occur or an injury may cause a fracture around the implant. A failed knee replacement can leave your joint unable to function.
Repairing a knee replacement is a complex procedure. Our surgeons are highly skilled in performing these challenging revision surgeries. We are one of only a few centers in South Florida with the expertise to handle these complex cases.
