Extended Illness Time Off

To support employees with income protection during illnesses or accidents, an Extended Illness Time Off bank is established for each regular full-time and part-time employee.  Employees may begin to use Extended Illness Time Off hours after six (6) months of full or part-time service.

Employees must be absent from work for their own illness/injury for twenty-four (24) consecutive work hours before they may use Extended Illness Time Off. For FMLA leave purposes, the twenty-four (24) hours is not required to be consecutive; it may be intermittent.

Once the twenty-four (24) hours have been satisfied, the Employee may use Extended Illness Time Off hours for any work time missed for the same injury or illness.

Compensation FAQs

  1. Does Memorial offer annual increases? Annual increases are determined each year by the Memorial Board of Directors. While they are reviewed annually, amounts are not guaranteed.
  2. When will I receive my annual increase? If approved, merit increases typically take place in August.
  3. What day does Memorial issue payroll, and what is the pay schedule? Memorial issues payroll on a biweekly basis, with paydays falling on Thursdays.
  4. How many days of PTO do I receive? How many hours do we accrue? Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued based on your job classification and length of service. For detailed information, including accrual rates, please refer to the PTO page.
  5. When am I eligible to begin using my PTO?
  6. Does PTO roll over? Yes, unused PTO can roll over - up to a maximum of 360 hours.
  7. Is PTO accrual different for leadership roles? Yes, accrual rates can vary for leadership positions. For more details, please see the PTO page.
  8. Do I receive separate sick time or is it combined with PTO? Yes, sick time is separate from your general PTO bank. For more information, please refer to the Benefits Guide.
  9. What holidays does Memorial recognize and observe with office closures?

  11. When do shift differentials apply for evening and night shifts?
  12. Does Memorial offer a bonus structure? Memorial offers a Short-Term Incentive Program for directors and above. For all other roles, bonuses are determined by the Board and may be issued at its discretion.
  13. Does Memorial offer mileage reimbursement for work-related travel?
  14. Does Memorial offer temporary housing assistance if I relocate?
  15. Will Memorial pay for certification courses or only for higher education degrees such as a Bachelor's?
