PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency: Memorial Regional Hospital

The Memorial Regional Hospital (MRH) PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program is a 12 month program at our flagship Level 1 Trauma Center that builds on both the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency training. As one of the largest hospitals in Florida, our 100 bed Emergency Department (ED) provides family-focused, emergency room care for an assortment of illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions. In addition, Memorial Regional’s ED Pharmacy team provides 24-hour clinical services and medication management to an ever growing department.

Our residency program has been designed using clinical specialty experiences to develop the knowledge and skills needed to function independently as practitioners within the emergency medicine setting. This program exposes residents to a wide variety of experiences which include participation in interdisciplinary health care teams, toxidrome emergencies, stroke alerts, code blue, trauma alerts, and emergency preparedness. This program ensures that the resident will gain experience in professional development and research in addition to encouraging them to enroll in our teaching certificate program.

Our goal is to ensure that the resident is provided opportunities for advanced training in all areas related to emergency medicine. This program provides the high-quality didactic and clinical experiences needed to create a well-rounded, fully competent clinical pharmacist. Residents who successfully complete our PGY2 Emergency Medicine pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification.

Candidates must enroll in the National Matching Service (NMS) and upload required documents via PhORCAS.
