Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma Treatment
Trauma care that honors your story and restores safety, stability, and hope.
Trauma affects each person differently and can touch every part of life—physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. For some people, a traumatic event leads to persistent distress that interferes with sleep, concentration, relationships, and daily functioning.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can appear right away or emerge years after an event. Symptoms often include intrusive memories or flashbacks, avoidance of reminders, heightened startle response, and changes in mood or thinking that make it hard to feel safe or connected.
Our team offers compassionate, individualized care that moves at your pace and focuses on restoring safety, stability, and hope. Treatment is guided by thorough assessment and may include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR, Seeking Safety therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and skills-based stabilization, with measurable goals and regular progress reviews to support lasting recovery.

We begin with a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment by a licensed clinical therapist and a psychiatric evaluation with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner. These required steps let us accurately diagnose, identify immediate needs, and place you in the program that best supports your safety and recovery, including trauma-specific services. Building Resilience, Insight, and Growth for Healing and Transformation (BRIGHT)
BRIGHT is an eight week trauma therapy group for adults designed to foster resilience, insight, and lasting change. In a warm, supportive setting you’ll learn practical tools to regulate emotions and restore stability, deepen understanding of how trauma affects mind and body, and reconnect with your values and life goals. Participants leave with strengthened coping skills, clearer perspective, and renewed confidence to move forward with healing and transformation.
Seeking Safety is a trauma-targeted approach taught within our STAR Intensive Outpatient Program for people with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. In STAR, Seeking Safety provides structured, skills-based sessions that help participants build practical tools for coping with triggers, setting boundaries, and strengthening healthy relationships while addressing trauma and addiction together. Seeking Safety emphasizes present-focused safety and stabilization, teaching concrete skills for emotion regulation, self-care, and relapse prevention to support lasting recovery.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized, evidence-based psychotherapy that helps reduce trauma symptoms by changing the negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors tied to traumatic memories. Our outpatient program includes therapists specially trained in EMDR who work with adults and adolescents to create a safe, paced treatment plan.
During EMDR sessions you’ll gently recall a distressing memory while focusing on a bilateral stimulus that engages both sides of the brain. Common methods include guided side-to-side eye movements, alternating sounds, or gentle tactile taps. These procedures help the brain reprocess the memory so you can remember the event without reliving its intense emotional charge.
EMDR is typically delivered across multiple sessions based on the complexity of each person’s history. Successful treatment supports symptom reduction, improved emotional regulation, and the ability to move forward with greater safety and resilience.
