High-Risk Pregnancy Care for Mom and Baby

Our Memorial Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists (perinatologists) are experts in the field of pregnancy complications for mother and baby. If you require MFM care, rest assured that you’re in skilled hands. We provide our patients with a unique blend of family-centered culture and cutting-edge medical care to meet both mom and baby’s needs.

If your OB/GYN refers you to our MFM team, we are committed to working side-by-side with your physician to manage your care.

In certain situations, your OB/GYNs could recommend that our MFM team assume prenatal care to monitor your baby’s health. If that’s the case, we will take great care of you and your little one.

During your initial visit, the team will perform a comprehensive assessment of you and your baby – including an ultrasound to help us track your baby’s health and development.

Our team manages high-risk pregnancies in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Multidisciplinary Team-based Care

If you need more comprehensive care at any point in your pregnancy, the Memorial MFM team is here for you and your baby. Our MFM program offers team-based care in a multidisciplinary inpatient setting, including:

Adult Medicine Specialists

If you are hospitalized at one of our three locations at any point during your pregnancy, our compassionate MFM team will provide around-the-clock monitoring for both you and baby.

We also offer our hospitalized moms-to-be access to online maternity classes and support groups. Many of our moms-to-be find it comforting to be a part of a breastfeeding class or Baby Care 101 class during their stay in the antepartum unit.

Pregnancy Complications

Our team is trained specifically to diagnose and create a treatment plan for mothers with pregnancy complications.

In addition to high-risk complications, we also provide experienced care managing more common conditions such as:

In addition, our labor nurses receive ongoing education using Evidence Based Practice for ACLS, NRP and fetal monitoring.
