About Me
I am a board-certified neurologist at Memorial Neuroscience Institute, where I diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological conditions, including dementia, stroke, headaches and nerve pain. I completed a two-year fellowship in movement disorders, where I gained specialized expertise in both hypokinetic (reduction in movement) and hyperkinetic (increased movement) disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia, ataxia and myoclonus. I’m also a clinical expert in deep brain stimulation for movement disorders and perform EMG-guided chemodenervation for focal dystonia.
My path to neurology began before medical school, when I cared for my grandfather during the final stage of his Parkinson’s disease. That experience first sparked my interest, but it wasn’t until I studied the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s in medical school that I understood it as a systemic disease. Looking back, I realized many of my grandfather’s struggles, issues that seemed unrelated at the time, were actually non-motor manifestations of his Parkinson’s. I also came to see how deeply these challenges can affect quality of life in ways not always visible to others. I often wished I had known then what I know now, which is why I’ve dedicated my career to educating and empowering patients and families with the knowledge and treatments they need to better navigate their illness.
My approach to care is holistic and personalized. I tailor education and management decisions to align with each person’s preferences, always mindful of the role family plays in supporting health.
My ultimate goals are to help patients regain function, maintain independence and live with the best quality of life possible.
