About Me

Medical Director, Gynecology Oncology Program

Medical Director, Quality for Memorial Cancer Institute

I am a hematologist and oncologist at Memorial Cancer Institute, caring for patients with gynecological and gastrointestinal cancers. I am also the director of the Gynecology Oncology Program and Quality for the cancer center.

I am board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. I completed an internal medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, where I earned the Resident Achievement Award. I continued my medical training in hematology-oncology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

I’ve been at Memorial for fifteen years and witnessed the growth of our cancer program. We work as a cohesive, collaborative team to care for you. We’re proud to have the medical, psychological and support services for you and your family. With so many specialists and support staff under one roof, we can communicate easily and often, and provide you with a seamless, multidisciplinary team approach during diagnosis, treatment and beyond.

It can be scary for any patient to receive a cancer diagnosis. We’re here to walk alongside you every step of the way, explaining every complicated medical term, laying out your options and explaining what you can expect. We also encourage your family to be part of your care, from your first appointment meeting us through your treatment and beyond.

In addition to providing patient care, I have been educating the next generation of physicians as an assistant professor at the Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine since 2014. I also serve as the chairman for the Program Evaluation Committee for the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship here at Memorial Cancer Institute.

I am also involved in multiple professional organizations and serve as a member of the QOPI Certification Program Steering Group of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). I also publish in numerous medical journals and present on topics in the field at conferences and medical association meetings.

Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive multiple awards from Vitals.com, including the Top 10 Doctor Award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition and Patient's Choice Award. I have also been recognized as an Expert Network Distinguished Professional.
