About Me

I am a medical oncologist and hematologist at Memorial Cancer Institute where I care for patients with gastrointestinal malignancies including gastroesophageal, pancreatic and colorectal cancers. I am also an assistant professor at Florida International University, where I help train the next generation of oncologists.

Working with patients battling cancer is more than a job to me  – it’s a calling. I understand that cancer forever touches the lives of my patients and do all I can to walk alongside them and guide them through their journey. While patients are often dealing with cancer for the first time, I hope they take comfort in the fact that at Memorial Cancer Institute, this is all we specialize in – this is all we do. So we are able to anticipate any challenges that lie ahead and stay one step ahead of the disease as well as take care of you in the best way possible.

As a physician, one of my most critical roles is to build partnerships – not only with my patients but also with doctors from other specialties and researchers. These partnerships help me stay abreast of the latest medical breakthroughs and provide the most comprehensive and effective care. I am also involved in cancer research and am the principal investigator on a number of pharmaceutical and cooperative group studies.

While dealing with cancer is a challenge, I encourage all of my patients to be positive and never lose hope because new discoveries and treatments are developed every day.
