About Me

I am a cardiac nocturnist intensivist at Memorial Healthcare System. I care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including those who have had cardiac bypass surgery for coronary artery disease, a heart valve replaced, or surgery for an aortic aneurysm or dissection.

I also manage patients needing mechanical circulatory support, such as those with heart failure requiring a heart pump or a left ventricular assist device (LVAD). This includes patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for heart failure or lung failure. I am also trained in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography.

I initially trained to be an emergency physician caring for acutely ill patients. While getting trained in critical care, I trained in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) and became very familiar with cardiac patients and their needs. They are some of the most closely monitored patients in the hospital overcoming critical illness and require some of the most precise care. I enjoy providing this meticulous care and seeing them get better.

Before joining Memorial, I was chief resident in my Emergency Medicine residency and chief fellow in my Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine fellowship. I served as president of Emergency Medicine Resident Association of Michigan (EMRAM) and on the board of directors for Michigan College of Emergency Physicians (MCEP).

I am also a chapter author for Lung Ultrasound for Essential Echocardiography 2nd edition and have given abstract presentations for the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, and Society for Critical Care Medicine.

I'm also National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) certified in advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography.
