During a visit to Boston, a bike accident severely injured Kellie’s knee. Once she returned home to Florida a few days later, Kellie scheduled an appointment at Memorial Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Center.

Dr. Geden Franck examined Kellie and conducted an MRI, which showed that Kellie tore her ACL, fractured her tibia, and damaged her meniscus. Dr. Franck collaborated with Dr. Marvin Smith to coordinate care. After the fracture healed, Dr. Smith performed minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery on Kellie to repair her knee damage.

“I feel like I went to sleep, I woke up and I was done, and my knee was stable,” said Kellie. “I hadn’t felt that in eight weeks and I knew that I was on the road to recovery.”

After completing physical therapy, Kellie is back on her bike, walking her dog, and enjoying normal activity again. “My knee is amazing. Without the help of everybody at Memorial, I’m not sure I would’ve been able to accomplish that.”
