About Me
I am a psychiatrist at Memorial Healthcare System, where I care for patients both in and out of the hospital. In the hospital setting, I treat individuals with complex psychiatric presentations that occur alongside medical illness. This includes delirium, mood and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and psychiatric complications related to conditions such as HIV, traumatic brain injury and neurologic disease.
In the outpatient setting, I work with patients managing a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, neurocognitive disorders and reproductive mental health concerns. I have a particular interest in complex consultation-liaison psychiatry and reproductive psychiatry, where medical and psychiatric care often intersect.
I became a physician out of a commitment to helping people improve their health and quality of life. During my training, psychiatry stood out because I saw how psychiatric symptoms could complicate medical illness and recovery — and how much improvement was possible with the right care. Working with patients whose psychiatric and medical needs overlap confirmed my path in consultation-liaison psychiatry, where a comprehensive, collaborative approach can make a real difference.
What I value most about my work is helping patients and families navigate difficult times and witnessing real progress that improves daily life. I take time to understand each person’s story — their history, current challenges and goals — and use that understanding to guide care that fits their medical and personal needs. I’m committed to clear, honest communication so patients and families feel informed, supported and part of every decision along the way.
My academic and research interests include reproductive psychiatry, substance use in the perinatal population and the management of complex consultation-liaison cases.
