About Me
I am a psychiatrist at Memorial Healthcare System, where I care for patients with depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma and stress-related conditions, addiction and substance use disorders, as well as mental health needs that arise during hospitalization. I also enjoy working with athletes and high-performing professionals on challenges such as performance anxiety and recovery.
I was drawn to medicine because I wanted to be present in moments that truly change lives. Psychiatry stood out during training for the way it combines neuroscience, psychotherapy and the human story. Sitting with people in difficult moments, honoring their experiences and using evidence-based treatments to help them move forward is deeply meaningful. To me, psychiatry is the most intimate form of medicine.
The most rewarding part of my work is partnering with patients — listening closely, learning what matters most to them and building a plan that restores safety, clarity, and hope. Watching someone regain sleep, purpose or connection with family never gets old. I strive to earn trust, explain options clearly and make decisions together. I also value the teamwork that defines hospital psychiatry — collaborating with nurses, therapists, and primary teams, and mentoring medical students and residents.
Teaching and mentorship have always been important to me, and in 2025, I was honored to receive the Award for Dedication to Medical Student Teaching. I am also an active member of the International Society of Sports Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association. During residency, I took part in leadership and committee work that focused on strengthening patient care and supporting the training of future physicians, experiences that continue to shape how I approach my role in the field today.
