About Me

I am a family physician and the Assistant Designated Institutional Official (ADIO) for Graduate Medical Education at Memorial Healthcare System. In the clinic, I supervise Internal Medicine residents in caring for patients with many common conditions, including diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. As the ADIO, I help shepherd Memorial's growing academic enterprise, educating and training the next generation of physicians.

I pursued a career in medicine and became a family doctor due to my desire to become a servant leader. It’s a privilege to care for others, and I value a comprehensive approach to care, incorporating all aspects of patients’ lives that can affect their health, including social determinants of health, such as access to education, transportation, food, and housing. These factors can cause patients to have more difficulty taking care of their health. By addressing these challenges, I can empower them with knowledge and resources to make decisions about their care.

In addition to caring for patients, I’m deeply committed to training and mentoring residents and physicians and to impacting the community's health through education and leadership. By empowering future doctors, we can profoundly revolutionize healthcare delivery.

I also perform medical education research, exploring how to enhance teaching, curriculum, and leadership in medicine. I have authored more than 100 publications, written book chapters, given Presentations, and held national leadership roles for medical organizations.
