About Me

I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital specializing in Advanced Cardiac Therapies. I care for patients from birth to early adulthood with a variety of heart conditions, including acute and chronic heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and myocarditis. On the other end of the spectrum, I take care of patients who require mechanical circulatory support (MCS) as a bridge to either transplant or recovery, as well as heart transplant recipients. I also oversee the Comprehensive Exercise Physiology Lab where cardiac stress tests, cardiopulmonary (i.e. metabolic) stress tests, and 6-minute walk tests are performed on a variety of patients with cardiac or pulmonary issues.

I fell in love with the cardiovascular system in college and became interested in heart failure and transplant medicine after completing an elective rotation during my cardiology fellowship. There has been so much progress in these two fields over the past few decades, and it’s an incredible privilege to help patients and their families navigate these journeys.

As a parent and a patient, myself, I can appreciate the stress of a new diagnosis, the burden a hospitalization places on families, and the faith required in one’s medical team. My goal is to make the entire experience a little less scary for both my patients and their families through compassionate care and honest communication.
