About Me
I am an electrophysiologist at Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute, specializing in the care of patients with heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation and flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), ventricular tachycardia, bradycardia/heart block, syncope and arrhythmias related to heart failure, genetic conditions, congenital heart disease, advanced circulatory support and heart and lung transplant.
I chose medicine because I value both the connection with patients and the science behind their care. With a background in math and physics, I was naturally drawn to cardiology, and more specifically, electrophysiology, especially because of the rapidly changing technologies integral to the field.
What I love most is the problem-solving — diagnosing rhythm disorders and tailoring therapy from the many tools we have available. I also enjoy teaching patients about their conditions and building lasting relationships with them.
My approach is patient-centered and holistic. I focus on understanding each person’s goals and values, then develop a curated plan that addresses not only their symptoms, but also the underlying causes and associated conditions. I treat patients the way I would want my own family treated. This includes prevention, diagnosis and management, delivered in collaboration with colleagues and staff for the most comprehensive care possible.
I perform a wide range of procedures, including ablations, pacemaker and leadless pacemaker implantations, defibrillator implantations, laser lead extractions, left atrial appendage occlusion devices and loop recorders. I enjoy all aspects of electrophysiology, especially complex and redo procedures as well as caring for patients with congenital disease.
