About Me

I am an obesity medicine specialist at Memorial Healthcare System, where I provide comprehensive medical management of obesity and obesity-related conditions in adults. This includes type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. As part of the obesity medicine clinic, our practice emphasizes evidence-based lifestyle interventions and the safe, individualized use of anti-obesity medications.

I became a physician to help people achieve their best possible health. For many years, I worked in primary care, where I observed the profound impact that obesity has on other chronic diseases and overall well-being. That experience inspired me to obtain certification in obesity medicine and transition into a dedicated bariatric role so I can focus on helping patients achieve meaningful, lasting weight loss and metabolic improvements.

I am passionate about partnering with patients to improve their health and quality of life through sustainable weight management. I take the time to learn about their personal challenges and lifestyle to design a personalized plan that blends nutrition, physical activity, behavioral strategies and — when appropriate — pharmacotherapy. I emphasize collaboration and ongoing support so patients feel empowered and informed every step of the way. Seeing patients regain energy, confidence and long-term health as they meet their goals is extremely rewarding.

In addition to caring for patients, I also serve as an assistant professor of medicine at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and remain active in teaching and mentoring medical students. I have participated in academic committees and interview panels for FIU and am a member of professional organizations such as the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
