About Me

I am a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, with a special interest in pediatric neuro-oncology and the care of children with brain tumors. I also treat a wide range of conditions, including sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders such as von Willebrand disease, blood clots and pediatric cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.

I have wanted to be a pediatric physician since high school, drawn by a love of science and the joy of working with children. In pediatric oncology, I value the opportunity to build meaningful, lasting relationships with patients and their families, while also being part of a field defined by remarkable scientific progress. The breakthroughs in pediatric oncology are extraordinary, and I feel grateful for the advances that have already been made and excited for those to come during my career.

What I enjoy most about my work is the people, both colleagues and patients. I am fortunate to work alongside a dedicated team committed to supporting children and families through difficult diagnoses and treatments. It is an honor to walk with families through the complexities of pediatric cancer and blood disorders, and I never take lightly the trust placed in me.

My approach to care is deeply personal. I want to understand who my patients are, including their families, their interests and what matters most to them. I also tailor my communication to each family’s needs, whether they prefer detailed explanations or a broader overview. By combining this individualized approach with the latest knowledge and close collaboration with other experts, I strive to ensure every child receives the best care available.
