“It’s like I got a second chance on that day.”

It was a day Alexandra, just 21 at the time, will never forget. Cramming for a college exam, she felt chest pressure, numbness in her hands and nausea.

She was rushed to Memorial, where it was determined she had suffered a mild heart attack. An aneurysm was detected in her circumflex artery.

The Memorial cardiac team determined the best course of action was monitoring Alexandra as she healed.

The Memorial team delivered the TotalHeart care she required to return to a normal life and take advantage of what’s important to her – quality time with family.

“I’m feeling fine,” she said. “I am so thankful for Memorial for not only taking care of me, but of my family, and making them feel welcome.”

Heart Attack at 21, Alexandra’s Grateful for her Memorial Heart Team

At age 21, Alexandra suffered a heart attack and Memorial physicians discovered an aneurysm in an artery.

The multidisciplinary team decided the best treatment was to let it be and help her heal.

Back to leading a normal life, Alexandra is grateful for the way she and her family were treated.
