One City at a Time Program
Memorial Healthcare System with Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital launched “One City at a Time” in 2023 to serve the primary care needs of residents living in the South Broward Hospital District. Our pediatric and adult mobile health centers will be stationed in different cities (i.e., Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines) throughout south Broward County from 9 am – 4 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for six weeks, then one day a week for two years. The goal is to provide free patient- and family-centered primary care closer to underinsured people in underserved neighborhoods.
Family medicine and internal medicine doctors provide primary care, vaccines, health screenings, school physicals and nutritional counseling. They can also make referrals to dentists, determine Medicaid eligibility, and link individuals to social services. No appointment is needed and there is no charge for any service provided.
Memorial's Mobile Health Center travels to different locations throughout South Broward Hospital District every month. Below are some of the venues we frequently visit:
- Broward Outreach Center
- Carver Ranches Library
- Gulfstream Early Learning Center
- Hollywood Boys & Girls Club
- Memorial Community Youth Services
- Oasis Church
- YMCA Greater Pembroke Pines
The mobile unit calendars are subject to change due to unforeseen operational issues. Patients scheduled on those days will be contacted to be rescheduled.
