About Me

I am a pediatric palliative care physician at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. One of the most common questions I’m asked is, “What is pediatric palliative care?” Pediatric palliative care is a specialized service led by physicians and nurse practitioners who provide an added layer of support for children living with serious or complex medical conditions. We work closely with families and the broader medical team to help navigate the healthcare system, manage symptoms, and improve quality of life—both in the hospital and outpatient settings.

Our patients often have chronic, life-limiting conditions that require highly individualized care. As a palliative care physician, I focus on symptom management—particularly acute and chronic pain—using a research-informed, multimodal approach. Just as importantly, I specialize in communication, helping families understand their options and make informed decisions that reflect their values and goals.

What drew me to this field was the opportunity to walk alongside children and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. Palliative care allows me to truly connect with my patients and advocate for their needs—not just medically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. I strive to be a consistent source of support, ensuring that families feel heard, empowered, and never alone in their journey.
