About Me

Dr. Sameet Kumar is one of two clinical psychologists at Memorial Cancer Institute, serving the patients of Memorial Healthcare System in south Broward County. He earned his doctorate in adult clinical psychology at the University of Miami in 2001, and completed his fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2003. He has nearly 20 years' experience in working in an oncology setting and specializes in working with adults who have cancer, as well as with their caregivers and families. In addition to being a clinical psychologist, he has also studied with numerous spiritual teachers as part of his training. Dr. Kumar's professional interests include mindfulness meditation, well-being, and grief and bereavement. He is also the author of the best-selling Grieving Mindfully: A Compassionate and Spiritual Approach to Coping with Loss, Mindfulness for Prolonged Grief, and The Mindful Path Through Worry and Rumination.
