About Me

I serve as Chief of Critical Care for Memorial Healthcare System, providing clinical and administrative leadership across the system's critical care programs. I completed my fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York in 2007 and went on to practice Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine with a large multidisciplinary group affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. I joined Memorial Healthcare System in January 2011 as an intensivist at Memorial Hospital West, where I later became Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit. I was appointed Vice Chief of Critical Care for the healthcare system in 2019 and became Chief of Critical Care in 2023. Throughout my career, I have remained deeply committed to compassionate, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care. My philosophy is simple: every patient should be cared for with the same attention, advocacy, and respect I would want for a member of my own family.

My clinical and professional interests include point-of-care ultrasonography, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, palliative critical care, and quality improvement. I have been a strong physician advocate for initiatives that reduce healthcare-associated infections and preventable complications, standardize evidence-based practices, and improve outcomes across the intensive care environment. I work closely with nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and physician leadership to develop clinical protocols, pathways, and order sets that support safe, consistent, and high-quality care. Most recently, I led the development and system-wide implementation of Memorial's Pulmonary Embolism Response Team pathway, bringing together critical care, cardiology, interventional radiology, cardiac surgery, emergency medicine, radiology, and other disciplines to provide a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach for patients with complex and high-risk pulmonary embolism.

Education, ethics, and collaboration are also central to my work. I am actively involved in Graduate Medical Education and serve as a critical care preceptor for residents from multiple training programs who rotate through Memorial's intensive care units. I also chair the Memorial Regional Hospital Ethics Committee and take part in evaluating complex bioethical issues across the healthcare system. I take great pride in Memorial's longstanding critical care program and its diverse team of intensivists and advanced practice providers. Memorial's patient- and family-centered culture, strong interdisciplinary relationships, and commitment to clinical excellence, education, quality, and innovation make it an exceptional environment in which to care for critically ill patients.
