Memorial Hospital West Fitness Center features a heated pool for aquatic workouts, swimming lessons, and recreational and therapeutic purposes. The pool is heated to 95 degrees Fahrenheit for the sake of our therapy patients, which is several degrees warmer than the typical heated pool, but still comfortable for swimming.

The pool is open to all Memorial Fitness Center members as well as guest pass holders.

Open Pool and Jacuzzi

The pool and jacuzzi are open to all members at specific times throughout the week. Please sign-in at the front desk prior to entering the pool area.

Swimming Lessons

We offer group swimming lessons year-round in our indoor, heated pool. Our teachers are certified American Red Cross water safety instructors.

Private Swimming Lessons

One-on-one private swimming lessons are available for all members ages 6 months to adults. Sessions consist of five, 20-minute or 30-minute classes on Saturdays.

Aquatic Group Classes

Our innovative, fun aquatic fitness classes take advantage of the water’s buoyancy to bring you a low-impact, flexible workout you can personalize to your individual capabilities.

  • Aerobics – A challenging aerobic class consisting of cardiovascular and strength training moves, incorporating the aqua weights, noodles and the resistance of the water.
  • Aqua Bootcamp – A class designed with high intensity intervals with strength training.
  • Aqua Cycle – Small Group Personal Training Cycle Class featuring the Hydrorider® Aqua Cycles. Some of the benefits to Hydrospin are cellulite reduction, thinning/toning/shaping of legs and great upper body and core work. Eight bikes are available in each class and must be registered in advance.
    • Members: Free | Non-members: $160
    • You must attend an Intro class prior to taking the classes.
  • Aqua Cycle Mix – Small Group Personal Training Cycle Class featuring the Hydrorider® Aqua Cycles along with a mix of strength, plyometrics and cardio. Some of the benefits to Hydrospin are cellulite reduction, thinning/toning/shaping of legs and great upper body and core work. Eight bikes are available in each class and must be registered in advance.
    • Members: Free | Non-members: $160
    • You must attend an Intro class prior to taking the classes.
  • Aqua Flow – This class is designed to stretch and strengthen the body as you flow through a series of gentle range of motion movements.
  • Easy Does It – A series of specially designed exercises in warm water to gently stretch and strengthen the body. This is the perfect class for people with arthritis, fibromyalgia or other orthopedic symptoms.

Children's Group Lessons

Children’s group classes are geared to children age 6 months to 9 years old. Classes are available year-round and meet eight times for 30 minutes each.

Manatee lessons are for children age 6 months to 3 years.

  • Class focuses on water adaptation for parents and children
  • Promotes familiarity with water and swimming in a safe, fun environment
  • Covers basic stroke mechanics
  • Teaches basic water safety for adults who enjoy water activities with children

Dolphin lessons are for children age 3 to 5 years.

  • Introduces children to basic water safety and swimming skills
  • Designed to accommodate different skill levels
  • Each child is taught at his or her own level

Seal lessons are for children age 6 to 9 years.

  • Designed for older children with limited swimming ability
  • Instructors teach basic water safety
  • Teaches swimming essentials like the front crawl stroke and survival floating
