What is the purpose of a coronary calcium scan (heart scan)?

A heart calcium scoring scan helps your doctor learn about your risk for coronary artery disease and heart attack. Deposits of calcium in the coronary arteries help determine if there is a buildup of calcified plaque, which could cause the arteries supplying the heart to narrow or be blocked (aka atherosclerosis).

Who should get a heart scan?

If you have an increased risk of heart disease or diabetes, you should consider getting a coronary calcium test.

What to expect during a heart scan?

It's a 10-15 minute exam where electrodes are attached to your chest and connected to an EKG machine. You'll lie down on a table that moves through a hollow X-ray tube while pictures of your heart are taken. Patients must have a prescription for the exam before scheduling an appointment.

Call 954-276-5500 to schedule a Heart Calcium Scoring CT Scan today for $99.
