Dana V. Wallace, MD, is a private practitioner in allergy, asthma and clinical immunology in Fort Lauderdale and is associated with the Florida Center for Allergy and Asthma Care. She serves as associate clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University in Davie and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Dr. Wallace completed a residency at Lenox Hill Hospital and a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Roosevelt Hospital. She is board-certified in pediatrics and allergy/immunology.
Dr. Wallace serves on the World Allergy Organization Board of Directors, is the past president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and has received the ACAAI Distinguished Service Award (2009) and the ACAAI Woman in Allergy Award (2008). She chairs the Emerging Societies/World Allergy Training School Committee and serves on the World Allergy Organization Editorial Board as a co-editor of the “Ask the Expert” section. Dr. Wallace has served on the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters since 2005, and was chief editor of “The Diagnosis and Management of Rhinitis: An updated Practice Parameter” in 2008. She is currently the ACAAI representative to the American Academy of Otolaryngology Association’s Allergic Rhinitis guideline development multidisciplinary task force.
Dr. Wallace has been an active volunteer with the Asthma and Allergy Network, Mothers of Asthmatics with their national educational and asthma screening efforts.
She is Immediate past president of the Broward County Medical Association, is on its executive committee and has served as its delegate to the Florida Medical Association since the 1980s. She currently is co-chair of the Broward County Medical Association’s Women Physicians committee. Dr. Wallace has served on the Florida Medical Association Council on Medical Education and Science, and was a member of the Florida State Board of Medical Examiners from 1979 to 1984. She is past president of the Florida Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Association.
