Shatha Shaif, MD
I am a family physician and primary care provider at Memorial Healthcare System. I completed my training at University of Miami/Jackson Heath System as chief resident in 2015. I provide preventive care for patients, management of chronic medical conditions as well as treatment for everyday illnesses and injuries. I have a particular interest in women’s health, diabetes and hypertension management.
I chose Family Medicine as my specialty because it was important to me to skillfully manage every aspect of a patient’s health rather than focusing on one body part or ailment. As a family physician, I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families and providing true comprehensive care while incorporating their personal beliefs and lifestyles into management decisions. These relationships enable me to help patients achieve their health goals.
Prior to joining Memorial, I worked at Jessie Trice Community Health System in Miami, where I provided comprehensive primary care managing all types of medical conditions, performed women’s health procedures, orthopedic and dermatological procedures for the underserved community. I taught resident physicians from University of Miami’s Family Medicine program as well as medical students from Nova Southeastern University.
Prior to that, I served as associate medical director of family medicine at Jackson North, a multi-specialty practice of Jackson Memorial Hospital.
