Meet the Physician

Dr. Danijela Levacic is a neuro-oncologist at Memorial Neuroscience Institute. She specializes in treating patients with brain tumors, including glioblastomas, low-grade gliomas and meningiomas, as well as metastases from systemic cancers.

Because most brain tumors are rare and few types have standard treatment protocols, Dr. Levacic creates customized care plans for her patients. She utilizes evidence-based treatments tailored to meet each person’s individual needs. She knows that cancer can affect nearly every aspect of someone’s life and works to minimize the impact in any way possible. This means in addition to treating the tumors themselves, she addresses symptom and pain management, focuses on quality of life, and strives to improve the overall well-being of patients and their families.

Dr. Levacic graduated from the University of Zagreb Medical School in Croatia and received additional medical training at Long Island College Hospital, the JFK Neuroscience Institute in New Jersey, and The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke.

Prior to joining Memorial Neuroscience Institute, she was an attending neurologist at North Shore University Hospital and an assistant professor of neurology at Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine in New York.
