Mona Bhatti, MD
I am a primary care physician at Memorial Healthcare System. I care for patients with a variety of everyday illnesses and injuries including the common cold and minor muscle strains, as well as those with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure) and high cholesterol.
I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by a family friend I knew growing up, who was a pediatrician. I wanted to be like her and help others. During my training in medical school, I realized I wanted to be able to help patients of all ages. I decided to become a primary care physician where I believed I could make the greatest difference.
Working in primary care, I have the opportunity to get to know my patients and their families. I love being able to connect with them and see the progress in their health over time. I’m also very passionate about preventive care and focus on implementing strategies with all my patients to help them with their overall well-being.
I understand that starting with a new primary care doctor can be stressful and scary. When meeting new patients for the first time, my goal is to listen and understand their concerns. I then like to share my thought process and the best next steps we can take to find a solution. A healthy dialogue is important as we work together and take the steps needed to maintain or improve health.
At Memorial Primary Care, we also strive to be available for patients when they need us. I meet with patients in person and am available to answer questions from my patients by phone and the patient portal. We also offer same- or next-day appointments.
Before joining Memorial, I was a primary care physician in Maryland and Michigan.
