Safety & Appointment Information

As we adapt to a new normal, we want to reassure our patients that Memorial has always placed patient safety at the forefront. To preserve the well-being of our patients, families, staff, and physicians, we have put extra precautionary measures in place throughout our physician practices and hospitals.

Safety Comes First

What We Are Doing To Keep You Safe

Screening

  • Staff pre-screen themselves for signs or symptoms of COVID-19 at home.
  • Employees in patient care areas are being screened for fever and other signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Screenings take place every shift and are in compliance with CDC guidelines.

Face Mask Policy

  • All of our staff wear masks at all times and practice social distancing.
  • Patient and caregiver are to arrive with their own personal protective face mask in place.

Social Distancing

  • Physician schedules have been modified to space out patient care to limit contact.
  • We offer “wait-less waiting rooms” where you will have minimal to no contact with other patients during your in-person visit.
  • Patients who have the means to pre-register from home will be asked to do so prior to arriving to their appointment. Once pre-registered, upon arrival to the office, patients will be taken straight to an exam room.
  • In cases where patients do not have the means to pre-register prior to arriving to their appointment, physical layout of the waiting rooms have been altered to observe social distancing.

Enhanced Cleaning

  • All patient care areas are thoroughly disinfected after each patient visit.

Appointments

In-person Appointments Are Open

Memorial Healthcare System physicians are providing in-person visits. To schedule an appointment, call your doctor’s office or book an online appointment.

What to Know Prior to Your Office Visit

  • A staff member will call patients 48 hours prior to their appointment to conduct a pre-screening according to CDC guidelines.
  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to your appointment. This will afford you time to self-park as our valet services are suspended until further notice.
  • Please be timely for your visit. Running behind schedule will create safety challenges related to social distancing.
  • Only one caregiver can accompany the patient to the appointment.
  • Patient and caregiver are to arrive with their own personal protective face mask in place.

What to Expect During Your Office Visit

  • All patients and caregivers will be asked screening questions related to COVID-19.
  • Only one caregiver can accompany the patient.
  • Patient and caregiver are to arrive with their own personal protective face mask in place.
  • Patients with appointments at one of our hospitals will wait outside and be notified when the doctor is ready to see you.
  • All patients and caregivers will have their temperature checked upon entering the office.
  • Any patient with a temperature >100F will immediately be discussed with the physician to determine if the patient must be seen.
    • If the patient must be seen, the appropriate precautions will be taken.
    • If the physician feels the patient does not need to be seen, the patient will be referred home to seek the appropriate medical support and the appointment will be rescheduled.

Schedule a Virtual Visit

All of our specialty and primary care practices offer telehealth and telephone visits, which means patients can communicate with their doctor without physically going to their office.

If you're scheduling a telehealth appointment online, please add "Telehealth" to the "Reason for Visit" field. A staff member will contact you to confirm your visit and provide you with further instructions.

If you prefer scheduling a telehealth appointment, we recommend creating a MyChart account. MyChart will help you communicate with your physician and your care team as well as provide you access to test results, appointment reminders and medical record.
