Radiology

Rotation: RAD 401-1

Length: 2 weeks

Goals: This two week elective is designed as a comprehensive introductory overview of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. You work one on one with general radiologists and subspecialists in Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, Women's imaging, and Nuclear medicine / PET. You will observe interpretation of imaging studies in all modalities, participate in fluoroscopic and Interventional Radiology procedures, attend multidisciplinary conferences, and work with imaging technologists as they perform studies.

Objectives: Basic interpretation skills are taught, and emphasis is placed on understanding appropriate utilization of medical imaging. The elective can be somewhat tailored to help prepare you for residency in any field, highlighting the imaging related to that particular clinical interest. Radiation Oncology and Pediatric Radiology can be potentially incorporated into the experience.
