Pharmacy Residency Program

PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Programs

Memorial Healthcare System is comprised of six hospitals all of which have American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited PGY1 residency programs. These PGY1 residency programs encompass a total of 13 residency positions. Memorial's pharmacy residents practice excellent, patient-focused pharmaceutical care, with the goals of promoting favorable patient outcomes, improving the health of the community and achieving a high level of patient satisfaction. Residents study several clinical specialties and provide care for a wide range of patients. They also educate patients, pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other members of the healthcare team on drug-related topics.

PGY2 Pharmacy Residency Programs

The PGY2 pharmacy residency program builds on the Doctor of Pharmacy education and PGY1 pharmacy residency program to contribute to the development of oncology clinical pharmacists in advanced or specialized practice. The Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Cancer Institute, Memorial Hospital West, and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital PGY2 program will provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care that improves medication therapy.
