Curriculum
Our didactic curriculum will be patterned after the Model of the Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine: https://www.abem.org/public/resources/em-model using Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide as our textbook of reference. Content will be covered in a multitude of ways:
- Initial 4-week block dedicated to Orientation at the beginning of residency training
- BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS training and certification
- Suture, Splint and Ultrasound workshops
- Daily Morning Report
- Weekly Academic Conference that is protected and will be conducted in various formats
- Traditional lecture
- Morbidity & Mortality case discussions every week
- Small group case-based discussions covering core content
- Journal Club both during dedicated academic conference time as well as beyond
- Mock oral board review
- Grand Rounds
- Understanding Healthcare Series sponsored by the Central Graduate Medical Education Office
- Simulation Curriculum dedicated to key index resuscitations and procedures:
- Adult and Pediatric Medical & Trauma Resuscitation
- Intubation and Invasive Procedures
- Standardized patients-Challenging situations
