Memorial Neuroscience Center

Rehabilitation

Memorial's rehabilitation centers service adolescents, adults and geriatric patients, providing quality services from acute medical/ surgical care to rehabilitation. Our focus is managing patient care through a transdisciplinary team that supports the patient’s re-entry in the home, workplace and the community.

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Services

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Services are provided by healthcare professionals who are focused on helping patients after surgery, acute illness or injury. Partnering with Memorial Neuroscience Center’s physicians and nurses, this multidisciplinary team works to help patients reach optimal health, functional independence and quality of life. In addition, Family-Centered Care approach emphasizes the role of family in the rehabilitation of a patient and therefore includes educational programs for patients and their loved ones.

Acute Inpatient - Ortho-Neuro Unit

The Acute Ortho-Neuro Unit provides acute medical/surgical services. The unit accepts immediate post-operative cases, transfers from intensive care and direct admissions, providing acute medical/surgical ortho-neuro stability. Patient care assists patients with neuro-medical and neuro-surgical diagnosis, including head and spinal cord injuries, brain and spinal cord tumors, cervical and lumbar disc disease, stroke, seizure disorders and neuro-muscular diseases as well as patients with orthopaedic diagnoses, such as fractures, joint replacements, osteomyelitis and amputations.
