Richard Coan lives his life to the fullest. He has a wonderful family, a love for race cars and a passion for life. Nevertheless, it was not long ago that Richard's future was threatened. Richard was diagnosed with throat cancer and given months to live. Determined to beat the odds, Richard came to Memorial Cancer Institute.

With aggressive treatment, Richard was able to beat the odds. "I couldn't believe it when my doctor sat me down, filled with emotion, and told me I would be OK. I'm his miracle patient, we've been close friends ever since."

Today Richard shows no sign of cancer and continues to live each day to the fullest.
