Memorial Healthcare System and Two of its Hospitals Recognized with Premier Awards

(Hollywood, Fla.) – Memorial Healthcare System announced today that it has been recognized by the Premiere healthcare alliance as a winner of the Premier Award for Quality (AFQ). It is one of only three healthcare systems nationwide to earn this distinction for leading healthcare organizations that provide efficient, outstanding patient care and consistently set the standard in clinical excellence.

In addition, Memorial Hospital Miramar and Memorial Hospital Pembroke, both within Memorial Healthcare System, received AFQ awards for their facilities. They were among only 21 hospitals that were singled out for this honor. AFQ winners rank in the top 1 percent in the nation for patient care.

The AFQ’s performance-based criteria, including clinical quality outcomes, resource utilization, and clinical process indicators, measure top performers at the overall hospital level. To receive this award, Memorial Healthcare System results were measured against 345 other healthcare systems nationally, and Memorial Hospital Miramar and Memorial Hospital Pembroke were each measured against 3,787 hospitals across the country.

Memorial Hospital Pembroke was also recognized with a Supply Chain Excellence award for achieving superior supply expense performance. Supply expense performance is measured by Premier’s SupplyFocus®, the industry’s largest comparative database of operational and supply chain cost information for acute care hospitals. In total, 27 hospitals nationwide were selected for their outstanding results.

All acute care inpatient facilities in the United States that submitted data to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the CMS Hospital Compare project were considered for the AFQ.
