Get Involved: Raise Awareness and Funds at the Annual Sickle Cell Sprint 5k Run/Fun Walk

(Hollywood, Fla.) — Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects more than 75,000 people in America, and it can cause pain episodes and damage to vital organs, even death. To help raise funds and awareness, join members of the Memorial Sickle Cell Day Hospital at the Annual Sickle Sprint 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds will benefit Sickle Cell Services at Memorial Healthcare System and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for social services, community events and scholarships.

WHERE: Brian Piccolo Park, 9501 Sheridan Street, Cooper City

HOW: Registration begins at 6:15 a.m. and the run and fun walk begin at 7:15 a.m.
