Memorial Hospital Miramar Goes Hollywood —
Marley & Me Filmed on Location

(Miramar, Fla.) — Lights, camera, action! Memorial Hospital Miramar recently experienced the glam of Hollywood when a crew of more than a hundred people worked tirelessly to transform areas of the hospital to shoot the motion picture Marley & Me. For an entire day of shooting, the sights of actors Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson were common place.

“Allowing the production of Marley & Me to occur at the hospital was a great milestone for Memorial Hospital Miramar,” said Aurelio Fernandez, hospital administrator. ”It took a coordinated team effort to accommodate the film crew without interrupting the flow of our clinical areas or the top-rated service we provide daily to our patients.”

The actors were focused on their lines, but behind the scenes, set designers quickly transformed a hospital room into a doctor’s office, where the crew spent most of the day shooting. The lobby area, which sports a Mediterranean decor, was also used for a scene with Aniston leaving the hospital. Outside in one of the hospital parking lots, more than 10 trailers stood by as generators, living quarters and other amenities needed for the shoot. This was a first-time movie experience for Memorial Hospital Miramar, who opened its doors in March 2005.
