Memorial Hospital Miramar Appoints New Chief of Emergency Medicine

(Miramar, Fla.) — Memorial Hospital Miramar has appointed Ruddy A. Valdes, D.O. as the new Chief of Emergency Medicine. In his role, Dr. Valdes will be a member of the Medical Executive Committee and will oversee clinical and administrative activities related to Memorial’s emergency department.


A native of Cuba, Dr. Valdes is board certified in Emergency Medicine and also Internal Medicine by the National Board of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Valdes graduated from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he completed an internship at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Binghamton, New York. He also completed a residency at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York.


Dr. Valdes is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and Internists, American College of Physicians and American Osteopathic Association. He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, Neonatal Advance Life Support and Basic Life Support.


Dr. Valdes is also affiliated with Memorial Regional Hospital.
