Amenities and Conveniences
If you're hungry for a snack, need to fill a prescription or require language translation, we have convenient services to suit your needs. Select an item from the drop-down menu below to read about it.
ATM (Automatic Teller Machine)
An ATM is available 24 hours a day.
Call Lights
Patients can always easily get in touch with their medical caregivers. In addition to the call light feature at every bed, patients and their families are given a cell phone number so they can reach their nurse or medical caregiver directly.
Cashier's Office
Payments can be made toward medical bills at the Cashier's Office.
Food
Visitors can dine on full meals, snacks, or beverages at any one of our hospital cafeterias. The menu and availability of items change each day. Snacks and beverages can also be purchased from the gift shops and from vending machines. Other dining options at Memorial hospitals vary by location and may include coffee kiosks or restaurants. Please inquire with each hospital for complete information.
The Food & Nutrition Services staff provides patient meals that are delicious and nutritious. We allow patients to choose their own selections from a patient menu at meal times.
Gift Shops
Memorial’s gift shops feature a large selection of merchandise, including floral arrangements, plants, balloons, candy and snack items, gift baskets, beautiful gift items and a full line of greeting cards. Seasonal merchandise also is available.
As an added convenience, you may call in gift orders for patients. We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit cards. Friendly volunteers staff the shops, and proceeds benefit Memorial Healthcare System programs.
Language Services
Memorial Healthcare System serves a vibrant multicultural community in South Florida and works to provide patients with medical care in their own language. Each Memorial Healthcare System hospital has a Customer Relations Director on staff to facilitate a patient’s linguistic needs.
In addition, every Memorial facility has signs in English and Spanish, and provides many educational materials and brochures in Spanish. Memorial also maintains a list of employees who speak foreign languages other than Spanish. Please ask your nurse or caregiver about arranging translation services.
Pharmacy
Memorial hospitals have on-site pharmacies that sell medical supplies, prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, candy, cards and more.
Phones
Memorial hospitals have public pay phones for use by our visitors. There are also courtesy phones located throughout the hospital for free local calls.
Cell phones can affect patient care equipment, ventilators, IV pumps and telemetry monitors. For the safety and comfort of our patients, please limit your cell phone usage to the main lobby, the cafeteria, the visitors lounge, waiting rooms and outside the building.
TTY Devices/Special Needs
Use of TTY Devices and other options for vision- and hearing- impaired visitors can be arranged through the Patients with Special Needs office at (954) 986-6343.
Valet Parking
Memorial hospitals and medical centers provide free valet parking.
