Memorial Regional Hospital, the flagship facility of Memorial Healthcare System, is one of the largest hospitals in Florida, with a distinguished reputation for advanced medicine and technology. Among its renowned programs are Memorial Cardiac & Vascular Institute, Memorial Cancer Institute and the Neuroscience Center. The hospital is one of only six Level I trauma centers in the state qualified to treat the most severe, lifethreatening injuries.
Pharmacy Department
Memorial pharmacists practice in an innovative environment where service and commitment make them valuable members of the healthcare team. Pharmacy services are fully decentralized and utilize some of the industry's most advanced technology, along with systems that ensure safe and effective medication use.
The Pharmacy Department comprises clinical pharmacists and specialists who interact daily through pharmaceutical care assignments. Staff members include those with graduate degrees, fellowship training, residency training, board certification, and years of clinical and management experience.
Pharmacy Residency
Memorial pharmacy residents practice excellent, patient-focused pharmaceutical care, with the goals of promoting favorable patient outcomes, improving the health status of the community and achieving a high level of patient satisfaction. Residents study several clinical specialties and provide care for a wide range of patients. They also educate patients, pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other members of the healthcare team on drugrelated topics.
The Memorial Residency Program is a progressive residency program offering clinical rotations in:
- Internal Medicine I and II
- Critical Care
- Drug Information
- Neonatology/Pediatrics
- Nutritional Support
- Trauma
- Emergency Medicine
- Advanced Hospital
- Research
Elective rotations are available for an optimal practice experience. The residency also is tailored to meet individual interests, and time is provided for research, projects and professional meetings
Upon completion of the Memorial Residency Program, participants are competent pharmacists with enhanced clinical skills and knowledge, able to contribute greatly to the pharmacy profession. We invite you to join us.
