Foundation Programs
Donations to Memorial Foundation have been used to support programs throughout Memorial Healthcare System including:
- Memorial Cancer Institute
- Memorial Cardiac & Vascular Institute
- Advanced medical technology, including breast biopsy equipment
- Equipment for the Adult Trauma Department
- Scholarships for the Adult Daycare Center in Hallandale
- Community education
Programs and services funded by Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation include:
- Conine Clubhouse
- Children's Mobile Health Center
- Neonatal intensive care equipment for airborne transport
- Equipment for the children's Fitness And Nutrition (F.A.N.) Club

“Most people think that charitable donations come from corporations. But gifts from individuals are the largest source of charitable donations,” says Lynn Croneberger, CFRE, Executive Director of the Foundations. “These gifts help support Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and other Memorial Healthcare System facilities in their efforts to provide safe, quality, cost-effective patient care.”
Undesignated gifts will be directed to areas where funding is needed most. Various gift opportunities also are available for donors who wish to earmark their donations toward a special project or fund. Any donation amount is welcome.
“People have sent checks for $5, and people have sent checks for thousands of dollars,” Croneberger says. “Whatever the amount, we always appreciate the support of others.”
A donation may be made in honor of a friend or family member, or in memory of a loved one. And donations are not just for the holidays. They can be given to commemorate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other events. All such donations are acknowledged with cards to the donor and the honoree; the amount of the gift is confidential.

These contributions allow Memorial Healthcare System’s hospitals to achieve a measure of excellence in care not possible through public funding alone.
